In Brief
After qualification and house jobs in King's College Hospital London, anatomy teaching posts and rotating surgical posts were done in Southhampton Medical School. Basic ENT training in Southampton was followed by Posts in the Royal Marsden Hospitals in Sutton and Fulham. The Welsh Training Scheme for ENT provided excellent around Higher Surgical Training in Newport and Cardiff and a Higher Degree, MS London, completed.

This training was augmented with two six month fellowships abroad. Firstly a TWJ Fellowship in Washington University Hospital St Louis USA to learn complex Otology and Head and Neck Cancer surgery, then the Janet Nash Fellowship In Otology and Skull Base Surgery in the University Hospital Zurich.

Appointed as a Consultant in1991 to Walton Hospital and Southport Hospital. Posts have been held in Aintree Hospitals, Alder Hey Hospital, Walton Centre for NeuroSciences, and The Royal Liverpool Hospital as well as Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals. Academic appointments include Hon Lecturer Liverpool University and Professor in Otology, Toronto University.

Author of over 100 academic papers chapters and books and inventor of three unique operations which are used world wide.

Many teaching and academic posts have been held such as Hon Sec for ENT.UK, Chair of FPS.UK, Chair of the SAC in ENT, Chair of PPC ENT.UK, Program Director for Mersey Deanery, STEC Chair Mersey Deanery.

International teaching and training has been recognised with the Award of the Toronto University Visiting Professorship and the Award of the Honorary Fellowship of the Hong Kong College of Otorhinolaryngology.

Current Practice concentrates on General Adult ENT, Otology and Neurotology, Sinus Disease, Head and Neck and Skin Cancer Diagnosis.

Areas of Interest are curing Cholesteatoma and endoscopic ear surgery, helping Snoring including injection snoreplasty, Managing Vertigo and Balance problems, Minimally invasive sinus treatments including balloon sinuplasty and balloon tuboplasty.

Treating patients to the best available standards is of paramount importance.
